What Is Belotero Balance®?
Belotero Balance® is a dermal facial filler injection approved to fill in moderate to severe nasolabial folds (the folds or wrinkles that go from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth), creating a smoother and younger-looking complexion. Our skin contains hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance found in the skin that gives it volume and a youthful appearance. As we age, our bodies produce less HA, which results in the development of fine lines and wrinkles. Belotero Balance® contains HA to restore the skin’s volume and fullness.

How Are Belotero Balance® Treatments Performed?
Belotero Balance® treatments are administered with a very small needle. Once the HA compound is injected into the skin, it expands under the skin to fill in lines and wrinkles. The results are natural looking and discreet looking so patients look rested and healthy.
During the procedure, there is typically very little discomfort with the size of the needle. If there is any discomfort, a numbing cream or local anesthetic may be applied.
Preparing for Belotero Balance®
To prepare for Belotero Balance®, there are guidelines we recommend patients follow as they help prevent excess bruising or bleeding:
- Stop smoking prior the treatments
- Stop taking blood thinning medicines such as ibuprofen, aspirin, and some vitamins and supplements
- Avoid waxing around the lips if Belotero Balance® is to be used there
Also, if you have a history of cold sores and want to have Belotero Balance® around the lips, please let Dr. Taylor know.
Recovery from Belotero Balance®
With Belotero Balance®, there is no major recovery involved following injections. Most patients return to their normal activities after the appointment. We do recommend that patients avoid sunbathing, strenuous exercise, smoking, and medications that may thin the blood for the first 24 hours following the treatment. There may also be some temporary redness and swelling at the injection site, but that typically resolves itself within a day or so.
How Much Does Belotero Balance® Cost?
The cost of Belotero Balance® varies with each patient depending on the areas to be treated and the extent of the treatments. During the consultation, we can discuss the cost as well as our payment options including financing through CareCredit®. We accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards and ask that full payment be made prior to the treatment.
