How Are Ultherapy® Treatments Performed?
Ultherapy® works by directing sound waves not only into the skin but deep under the skin to the same tissue addressed in surgery. This gently heats the tissue to lift and tighten loose skin without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. Besides the visible effects of lifting and tightening, there is also an invisible result from Ultherapy® with the creation of new collagen, which helps the skin maintain its youthfulness. Ultherapy® takes only about 30 to 60 minutes to complete by focusing ultrasound energy below the skin’s surface so there’s no damage to the skin and usually requires only one treatment.
Preparing for Ultherapy®
The only preparation for Ultherapy® is to come with clean skin that is free of makeup and moisturizers. Also, we recommend that you ensure you are a good candidate for the treatment.
Recovery from Ultherapy®
Because Ultherapy® is a non-invasive treatment, there is no downtime or recovery from the procedure. Results are immediate although the full effect of the treatment takes two to three months to become fully visible. You may have some redness or slight welts immediately following the procedure, but they typically resolve themselves within a short while following the procedure.
