Latisse® in Middletown, NJ

Many women want to enhance their appearance with longer, thicker eyelashes. At Allure Plastic Surgery Center, patients in Red Bank, NJ, can have longer lashes with Latisse® eyelash enhancement to give them a more attractive appearance.

What Is Latisse®?

Latisse® is the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. Latisse® is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle by increasing the length of this phase and increasing the number of hairs in this growth phase.

Benefits of Latisse®

Latisse® is the first FDA-approved treatment for the enhancement of eyelashes and offers the following benefits:

  • Lengthens and thickens lashes
  • Strengthens lashes that become brittle with age

How Does Latisse® Work?

Before going to sleep, patients place one drop of the Latisse® solution (Bimatoprost 0.03%) onto the applicator and then apply it across the skin of the upper eyelid at the base of the eyelashes. Patients make this a part of their evening routine, like brushing their teeth or removing their makeup. The onset of effect is gradual, with the majority of users seeing significant improvement within two months. But if patients stop using Latisse®, the lashes return to their previous appearance over several weeks to months.

Preparing for Latisse®

Latisse® is prescribed to patients at the office by Dr. Taylor. To prepare for Latisse® treatments, it is important to remove contacts and wash the entire face to remove any and all make-up on the face and eyes.

Recovery from Latisse®

Following treatments, contacts may be put back in the eyes after at least 15 minutes. Some patients have mentioned a slight itching sensation as well as redness immediately following Latisse® treatments, but it goes away within a very short time. Once treatments stop, eyelashes return to their normal length and thickness within a few weeks or months.

How Much Does Latisse® Cost?

The cost of Latisse® varies with each patient depending on the extent and goals of the treatment. During your consultation, we will discuss the cost as well as payment options. We accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards, as well as financing with CareCredit®.

Is Latisse® Right for Me?

If you feel that your eyelashes lack in density and volume, then Latisse® is right for you.
